Introduction | The records of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1927 - 2001, were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio 43403, in May 2001, with the cooperation of Reverend Thomas E. Wehinger of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Toledo, Ohio. The collection consists of baptisms * , first communions, confirmations, marriages * , and deaths. Due to inconsistencies in pagination and transcription of data, researchers are encouraged to refer to all volumes within each series. (See order of microfilming for a detailed list of these records.) Some records are in Latin. This microfilm collection includes all the records found at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in May, 2001. According to the parish secretary, Carolyn Roome, other records may have been destroyed by water damage. There are no first communion records for 1964 - 1978, no confirmation records for 1965 - 1975 and no death records from 1964 - 1977. This register and this collection was prepared by Jennifer Golis in May 2001. * There is a seventy (70) year access restriction on baptism and marriage records. No restrictions apply to the remainder of this collection. |
Agency History | Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church began as a Mission of St. Hyacinth Church in 1927. Their church was also built and completed in 1927. Their first resident pastor, Father Michael Robaskiewicz, was appointed in 1931. A shrine built in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes was dedicated on the church grounds in 1933. Mossing, Lawrence A.
